The future of Tasmanian hospitality is shining brightly, with one of the state’s rising young talents crowned the nation’s best at the AHA National Awards for Excellence on the Gold Coast last night.
In an outstanding achievement, St. Albi Bar & Eatery’s Matthew Bomford was named the Hotel Industry Rising Star (General Division) – the first Tasmanian to receive the award since Lauren Hodder from Lenna of Hobart in 2010 – one of an impressive six national titles that cement the state’s reputation as a powerhouse of innovation, inclusivity, and world-class guest experiences. The tally is the second highest ever for Tasmania, behind only last year’s record-breaking haul of seven wins.
