Hobart has recorded the highest hotel occupancy of any capital city in Australia for the third consecutive month, as Tasmania’s accommodation sector continues to show resilience at the start of spring.
New data from Hospitality Tasmania’s March 2026 Occupancy Report shows Hobart reached 87.89 per cent occupancy for the month, leading all capital cities nationally despite a slight easing compared to the same time last year.
Statewide, Tasmania recorded 87.42 per cent occupancy for March, down marginally on the record-breaking result from 12 months ago, but importantly representing a slight increase on February and reinforcing the consistency of the state’s summer performance.
