Hospitality Tasmania has backed calls for a temporary fuel excise relief, warning rising fuel costs are placing increasing pressure on hospitality businesses and regional operators.
CEO Steve Old said soaring fuel prices were adding another layer of cost at a time when businesses were already navigating tight margins, workforce challenges and softening forward demand.
“Fuel costs don’t just hit the bowser, they flow through the entire hospitality supply chain,” Mr Old said.
